Plasma IQ

Non-Surgical Blepharoplasty through plasma sublimation

STIMULATE THE REGENERATION OF YOUR SKIN

Plasma IQ is an alternative to cosmetic surgery, offering a new option for clients who want a quick, less invasive solution without the inconveniences of a surgical procedure.

Plasma IQ is a skin treatment called plasma sublimation. It causes controlled microinjuries to the skin, which tightens and retracts the tissue and stimulates new collagen to form in the targeted area. Plasma IQ improves the appearance of deep wrinkles, more superficial fine lines, scars, stretch marks and sagging skin of the face, neck and eyelids. It is an effective, non-surgical solution for the upper and lower eyelid area (non-surgical blepharoplasty).

WHAT DOES PLASMA IQ INVOLVE?

This treatment harnesses the same physical phenomenon that generates lightning during thunderstorms. In nature, static electricity accumulates in clouds and is abruptly released, forming an electric arc (current flowing through ionized air molecules).

When using a Plasma IQ pen, the electric arc causes “sublimation” of the superficial cells of the epidermis (changing the cells from a solid to a gaseous state). This destroys the cells, causing the skin to retract, smoothing wrinkles and tightening slackened tissue. The heat generated during the process penetrates down into the superficial dermis, where it stimulates the production of new collagen, an action comparable to other, better-known technologies like radiofrequency treatments.

Plasma IQ is an innovation in the world of aesthetic medicine. Its sublimation is so precise that no heat is transferred into the surrounding tissue, protecting them. This precision makes it possible to treat more sensitive areas like the eyelids, neck and neckline.

BENEFITS OF THE PLASMA IQ TREATMENT?

– Minimally invasive ablative treatment
– Significant reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
– Eliminates unwanted skin lesions for a refreshed and renewed appearance
– The results of this minimally invasive lifting technique will be visible a few days after treatment
– The skin will continue to tighten for up to 12 weeks post-treatment due to the new collagen generated
– Plasma IQ is an alternative to surgical blepharoplasty in clients with moderate ptosis (drooping) of the eyelids
– Corrects scars

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE TREATMENT?

First, a health assessment is conducted to determine if you are a good candidate for this technique. A nurse will assess the areas to work on, to maximize the results of the treatment. The skin is then thoroughly cleansed (asepsis) and a topical anesthetic is applied to ensure your comfort during the procedure.

The microinjuries are quite superficial, spaced one to two millimetres apart. Treated areas may have an inflammatory reaction: redness, local edema (swelling) and mild discomfort that can easily be soothed with a topical ointment. Small carbon crusts will form on the skin after 24 hours and will be present for a period of two to seven days. They will dry and fall off on their own once the skin has regenerated.

Results can be seen after one week, but will be optimal after three months, when the new collagen has formed. Drooping eyelids will generally “lift” after two to three sessions, depending on the level of ptosis (relaxation) observed during the initial assessment.

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS

– Local redness
– Transient edema (temporary swelling)
– Skin tenderness
– Local crusts
– Bruising (rare)
– Hyper or hypopigmentation (rare)

Following the post-treatment instructions is strongly recommended.

HOW LONG WILL THE RESULTS LAST?

Plasma IQ’s rejuvenating effect should last as long as comparable surgical procedures. However, the effects cannot be considered permanent, as they do not prevent or stop the natural aging process.

That said, you can expect the positive results to last several years if you avoid lifestyle factors that contribute to aging and skin damage. Avoid excessive alcohol and tobacco consumption and prolonged sun exposure for optimal, lasting results.

Results may vary from person to person.
