Description medical peeling in clinic

Thanks to the peelings, you can put an end to dull complexion, brown spots and blackheads.

It’s no longer a secret:  sun exposure, smoking, hormonal changes and ageing all cause, over the years, some unwanted reactions to the skin like a dull complexion, open pores, wrinkles, brown or age spots , blackheads (acne, pimples).

In fact, every day, your skin follows a natural cell renewal process, where old skin cells die and are replaced with new cells that are lifted from the basic layer between dermis and epidermis. A medical peeling is an aesthetical medical technique used to reproduce and stimulate this cell renewal process, the action of which is less efficient with the passing years.  The peeling technique aims at eliminating the dermis of dead skin cells (surface layer of skin) and at stimulating the basic layer. The results are just amazing! You get a smoother and suppler skin.  You notice a reduction of wrinkles, of sun spots and of skin roughness.

Description of an in-clinic peeling treatment

Medical peelings are formulated to promote progressive and long-term results. Depending on the type of peeling you choose, there will be more or less significant desquamation. The occurrence of some edema, of a light burning sensation and of dryness of the skin may be the observable consequences of a peeling treatment.

Institut Brabant offers differents types of peelings, to better meet all your needs.

A peeling treatment in short

Your treatment will last an average of 30 to 45 minutes. Your aesthetician will first proceed to the assessment of our skin and of your needs.  She will clean your skin and you will discuss the treatment that is the most appropriate for you. Finally, she will apply the peeling treatment, in accordance with the chosen protocol.

Care and maintenance plan

Those peelings are treatments that are adapted to all types of skin, apart from highly-sensitive or irritated skins.

Even though visible results are noticeable from the very first treatment, it is suggested to proceed to a 4-to-6 treatment therapy for optimal results. Every two or three weeks, peelings are recommended in the scope of a therapy, or according to the advice of your skin care specialist.

The number of treatments may be increased, depending on the severity of the condition to be treated.  A complete treatment aiming at superior results is composed of a series of peelings, along with a home care program.
